Earth House

Meet the band:
Caleb Eberle: Vocals/Guitar
Sam Oden: Guitar/Vocals
John Oden: Drums
Donte Taylor: Bass

Earth House began about two years ago when one of the members, Caleb, began recording acoustic songs on cassette.  Over the past year they have blossomed into a flawless combination of indie rock, southern folk, post gospel, and "a lot of noise."  Fun fact: I actually met Caleb while creeping around St. Augustine with my little sister one night in November, just saying.

Originally from Enterprise, Alabama, Earth House is currently located in St. Augustine, Florida and working on Esto Records.  Caleb finds inspiration in religion, which he studies at Flagler College and talks about bands like Neutral Milk Hotel (who doesn't agree that Jeff Mangum is a writing genius?), and post rock bands like Explosions in the Sky as his biggest influences.

"I read a lot of really strange books and they just make me want to write about how strange religion and even the idea of religion is."

Of all the bands I've exchanged emails with, Earth House mentioned so many bands that I have NEVER HEARD OF (not to toot my own horn but this is a rarity, but thanks for all the new tunes).  Caleb mentioned Sufjan Stevens right after Age of Adz came out or Bon Iver (woohoo, best new artist) as some of the best concerts he's ever been to and I'll Get By by Become the Teeth as his favorite song right now.  "The entire story of the album is just amazing and it all comes together with this last song."

The guys in Earth House are hoping to do a cover of "I'll Make Love To You" by Boyz II men (after they figure out how) and when asked who they would most like to share the stage with chose Kanye....as in West?  I still haven't figured out if I read that correctly, but if so, I love it!

Earth House is going to be playing a few shows this month at SXSW in Austin, Texas, which they are stoked on.  "We've never played a festival before so this is a big step for us and we're all excited to sleep in a van six days."  They are also beginning work on recording their first full length album at the beginning of the summer, look for it's release this fall!
