Talk Of Spring

Meet the band:
Josh Napier: Vocals/Guitar
Scotty Peebles: Bass
Jake Griffith: Drums

Talking to these guys really solidified one thing for me, the best time to get in touch with a band MUST be around 1 a.m. (it keeps happening that way for me, good thing I'm a night owl).  As I was trying to force myself to go to sleep, am I the only person who can NEVER go to sleep when I'm actually trying?  Anyway, I was scrolling through my beloved Twitter time line and this band started following me, I immediately lurked their tweets to find a link where I could listen to their music.  About 3 seconds into their track "You're  A Dream" all I could think was "I wonder if I have Fall Out Boy on my Rhapsody?"  (and I mean that in the absolute best way).

The guys of Talk of Spring started playing their tune of pop punk music about 2 years ago in Louisville, Kentucky.  Whenever I hear music by a new band I can't help but compare them in my mind to the bands I already know and love, and there is a reason that Fall Out Boy was the first to come to mind here: not only were they pitted as one of Scotty's (bass guitarist) favorite bands but also as the best concert he ever attended; "I saw them in Chicago in an arena, it was definitely an experience- Lots of pyro."  As far as I'm concerned, Fall Out Boy was one of the bands that really paved the way for this genre of music to break into the mainstream, top 40 radio stations with their upbeat rock melodies and catchy lyrics that had everyone relating and singing along (who didn't love 'Sugar, We're Going Down')?  Talk of Spring has the same sound that had me jamming in my p.j's at 1 a.m. while watching them dance with a human banana on the side of the road in one of their tour videos (nice moves, boys).

When asked who they would most like to share the stage with they answered with bands like Coldplay, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry; they even did a cover of her song "California Gurls." The guys of Talk of Spring find and take inspiration from everything and anything; seeing people smile, slutty ex-girlfriends (I LOVE this answer), and having fun.   "We just try to write what we like to play and make sure everyone has a good time."

Talk Of Spring just finished recording their second EP with Marc McClusky (Weezer, Hit The Lights, Ludo).  Watch out for a new song release soon!
